The One Decision That Will Change Your life

"It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped." Tony Robbins

We all respond differently, how are you facing your problems today? Are you aware that you are one decision away from creating your life? This weeks treasure is about small choices and getting out of your head.

True story I have been struggling with the knowledge-action gap by, Mel Robbins. This post was supposed to be about motivation, but I decided to write about the tiny decisions that are life-changing. The knowledge-action gap is when you know what you need to do, but you can’t seem to make yourself do it. Isn’t that frustrating? My projects have grown since last year, and I am now writing three blogs, creating an online course and learning how to navigate effectively on social media. My little decisions to increase my inventory, to have more time has been a bit challenging. So I decided to snap out of it and start creating. That was the best decision of my life because it is helping me grow. How do you go from stuck to productive? I will share with you what I did to help me get through it.

To change and get moving is doing the little things that matter. Every day we make small decisions that affect our lives, for instance, we decide not to get out of bed or not go to the gym, not go for that walk. It’s time to make the time to do the right things. When you find yourself living on autopilot, it's time to stop and start taking the right actions.

Examples of some decisions that keep you from living your best life:

  • Being mean
  • Not getting up on time
  • Hitting the snooze button
  • Checking out because it’s overwhelming
  • Eating the wrong foods
  • Snapping at your kids or spouse
  • Not speaking up in a meeting
  • Not looking for a job
  • Not writing the article
  • Not making the call

Examples of some decisions that will allow you to live your best life:

  • Start Writing
  • Learn a new skill
  • Get up on time
  • Make breakfast
  • Start looking for a job
  • Be nicer to everyone
  • Don’t drink so much
  • Pick up the phone and call a friend
  • Go for a walk
  • Go to the beach

Stop Waiting
I stopped waiting to feel like doing what I had to do to build my inventory. I decided one day to do it. I didn’t allow my monkey brain to get in the way. Stop waiting to feel like doing it.

Trick Your Brain
Our brains are designed to stop us from doing anything that’s going to hurt us, and if we are hesitant in doing a particular activity, our brain sends signals that prevent us from doing that activity. First, you must find a way to interrupt your mind, when you wake up decide to kickstart your day, try Mel Robbins 5 second rule, where you count backward 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 that will interrupt your pattern of hitting that snooze button. Try it before every activity that you do. And soon you will start doing the little things that matter and keep moving forward. Like, waking up on time, going for a walk, actually taking the time to meditate, whatever it might be. It’s time to get out of that slump. Let’s go.

Create A Ritual
This one is my favorite; it can be a secret ritual that takes you from blocked state of mind to a productive state of mind. I tell myself my intention for each activity before I start doing it, some people sing, others chant, some dance before every project, the point of this is to get you to move and get into the flow, this will help you start and snap you out of whatever miserable mood you might be in. It’s not easy, it’s an ongoing battle, but it’s not impossible. It takes courage, self-love, and patience with yourself to feel better.

In summary, it’s about time you discover your greatness. Take a deep breath and take control of your mindset, you are one small decision away from transforming your life. Contact me today, let’s chat.
