How To Be Spiritual In Your Daily Life
This year I have dedicated one day a week to studying and working on my personal development. This past week I chose to study Gabby Bernstein the Spiritual Junkie. This weeks treasure is all about Spirituality, thank you Gabby for inspiring me.
As you might know already, my spiritual journey started in my early teenage years. I use to write, and at times I felt as if it wasn't me writing. Now I know that it was a higher power delivering messages and guiding me. The only difference between then and now is that I am now awake and I listen to the messages. That is why I have decided to share with you everything that I have learned throughout the years and what I am learning now. Spirituality is a big part of my coaching sessions and a big part of my life.
In this day in age with technology, work, family, and life happening all around us, it’s difficult to stay focused and awake; I get it. But, if you make the time to take control of you, there is nothing that can take you down. Remember that even the most beautiful flower has thorns. But, if you are careful you can enjoy the flower with the thorns. The beauty is still there; you just have to learn how to focus on the beauty and not what can hurt you.
Below you will find five tips to help you connect with that higher power that’s inside of you. Take the time to learn how to listen and know when to act.
1. Everything As A Spiritual Practice
Do everything on purpose. Bring in that spiritual practice to everything; I mean everything. For example, washing your dishes, cleaning the house, cooking, doing laundry, when you take a shower. I mean everything that you decide that needs to get done, stop, take a deep breath get at the moment and then begin to work. You will feel a connection that takes over your soul, and when you decide to do with love and dedication, source energy will guide you.
2. Be Present
The power of now is a valid and active power. I recommend you read the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Practice the art of being present. Say to yourself; I am now taking a shower. Try it the next time you shower. Notice, I mean notice everything that you are about to do. Take responsibility to be in the present moment. Being present is a form of spiritual practice. Lao Tzu couldn’t have said it better, “If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.” Words to live by, words to take seriously, words that heal. Practice being present, you won’t be sorry.
3. Free Writing
Practice taking a pen and paper and allow yourself to write without stopping. Get into the zone and let source energy to flow through you. You will be amazed of the messages, of the writing and the inspiration. Take the time to be taken away. Today, take a journal and a pen and take fifteen minutes and call it your own, take a deep breath and close your eyes, now open them slowly and start writing. To be guided you must listen and be attentive.
4. Spiritual Practice In Your Workplace
You go to work, and you feel as if it’s consuming you mentally. The stress that you are feeling is overwhelming; it’s time to take control and incorporate spirituality into your workplace. Take breathing breaks, take five minutes to stop and breath profoundly. Do everything with a smile on your face, be the one to transform the workplace. Did you know, that a smile can go through the phone lines? Yes, try answering the phone with a smile, it works the other person will feel it. Whatever your task, phones, meetings, reports, interviews, client visits, anything, make sure that you are focusing on the higher power that's guiding you.
5. Practice Kindness
First practice kindness with yourself. Be kind to yourself, stop the negative self-talk. Take deep breaths and love what you do. Then, after being good at being kind to yourself, be helpful to others. It starts with you first, but never forget to be kind to everyone, your kids, your family, your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers; I mean everyone. Practice the act of kindness. Be kind even though it is a simple act, it is often forgotten.
Bonus: Let’s not forget to meditate. Always take time to be with you and source energy. Sit, pray, meditate, be in silence and listen to your inner voice. That time is sacred, remember to revamp, rewind and relax.
There you have it, my take on how to stay connected with source energy. You are extraordinary, don’t forget it. Hope you enjoyed the holidays and let’s welcome 2018 with inner spiritual strength. Connect with me if you are looking for a Dynamic Happy Coach.
