How To Create The Best Zen Environment In Your Workplace

Are you currently working in a toxic work environment?  Let’s face it, we all want to work in a pleasant environment.  But, it’s not always the case.  We have employers that are not real leaders, we have coworkers that are bitter, and we are striving to love our work environment.
The problem with this subject is that we all have to participate, including ourselves.  I remember when I worked in the corporate world how it frustrated me when other people's behaviors interfered with my wellbeing.  I didn’t understand that it was coming from me, but I was blaming everyone except myself.  But, it all starts with me.  So, I decided to take action.

Have you ever been in a similar situation?  It’s hard when you are not the only one in the same office, but you do have the ability to create a zen environment, even if it’s only with you.  The way that you create the Zen environment is to work on your mind, your working area and your emotions.
“Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it.”  Buddha

First, Work On Your Mind
When you create a positive mindset and build that into choosing thoughts and behavior that allow you to feel happier, soon your emotions will follow suit.  It’s not easy; I never said it was easy.  But, it is worth building the stamina to look around you and be able to deal with that bitter employee, the employee that is always looking for ways to throw you off emotionally while at work.  Take responsibility and improve your inner being and your environment will improve.

Second, Improve your working area
Make sure that your work area is always to your liking.  Do you like flowers? Buy yourself beautiful flowers to liven up the area.  Do you like plants? Bring a small plant to your desk.  Are you organized? Clean Out your area, make your environment pleasant and you will automatically feel better.  Some places do not allow music, but in this new era, I am sure that you can have soft and pleasant music playing the background somehow.  If that works for you, do it.  It makes a difference.

Lastly, Let your Emotions shine
How are you feeling?  Are you feeling happier when you walk into your office? Always remember that it takes two to tango.  If people around you are bitter, do not add fuel the fire.  Keep to yourself and do you work, do not gossip or be part of any gossip.  Help your customers, work together.  Always find ways to help others.  By helping others, you will soon feel better, and your environment will change for the better.  Your thoughts have improved.  Now your thoughts are bringing you closer to who you want to be.  A productive, pleasant employee.  It starts with you, if you focus on your feelings, you can create a zen environment for yourself and others.  Your emotions will have the balance to allow you to work in a Zen and peaceful environment.

In summary, as I mentioned before.  It starts with you, I understand that it’s not easy, but we all have to take responsibility for our actions.  It is not right nor healthy to blame others.  We have the ability to create a pleasant environment wherever we are.  Hope this helped, I know that it has helped me in the past.  Have a fantastic week.
